Visa
So, you're planning a trip to Qatar? Lucky you! But before you pack your bags, let’s talk about visa — because nobody likes airport surprises. The good news? Qatar makes it super easy for most travelers to visit, but there are still a few things you need to know.
Visa-Free Entry: Are You on the List?
Travelers from 101 countries can enter visa-free.
To check if your country is on the list, visit Visit Qatar portal — better safe than sorry!
Visa on Arrival
If your passport qualifies, you can get a single-entry visa on arrival valid for 30 days.
GCC Residents: If you live in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, or Kuwait, you can also get a visa on arrival — but your residence permit must be valid for at least six months. However, I would still highly recommend to check this information on Visit Qatar portal before your flight, to make sure there are no changes.
Hayya E-Visa: Qatar’s Online Entry Pass
Not on the visa-free list? No problem! Qatar has streamlined the process with the Hayya platform, making it super easy to get an e-visa.
-
Register at www.hayya.qa (or via the Hayya app)
-
Upload required documents
-
Pay the visa fee & submit
-
Get your Hayya approval within 24 hours
That’s it! Your e-visa will be linked to your passport, so no need to carry extra paperwork.

How to Get to Doha: Three Easy Ways to Travel
Doha is easy to get to, whether you prefer to fly, drive, or arrive by sea. Here’s how:
Fly to Qatar
More than 50 international airlines fly to Hamad International Airport (HIA), with direct connections from major cities worldwide. Most flights from key global hubs take around 6-7 hours, making air travel the fastest option.
Take a Road Trip
Doha is easily accessible by car from the UAE, Oman, and other GCC countries via the Abu Samra border with Saudi Arabia, just an hour’s drive from the city. Travelers should check entry requirements in advance, including visa regulations. For a smoother process, fast-track entry can be arranged through the Hayya app.
Arrive by Cruise or Yacht
Cruise passengers can arrive at Doha Port, which welcomes major international cruise lines such as MSC Cruises, Costa Cruises, and Silversea. Private yachts can dock at The Pearl or Lusail Marina, offering direct access to the city.
Choose the route that suits you best and enjoy your time in Doha.
