Passed my 6th day in UAE as a part of "Becoming local in Dubai" project. So, what I found out here:
The city is much more open minded than I thought / than Bahrain.
Renting an apartment here requires a small fortune, or at least a kidney or two for sale.
Winter in Dubai can be surprisingly chilly – I've been bundling up in sweaters and scarves.
Everywhere I turn, I'm reminded of Sri Lanka through Samahan Tea, Coconut cookies, and spring rolls. It's like a taste of home in a bustling city.
Malls are everywhere. Literally. Dubai is one big Shopping Mall.
Anything can be delivered anywhere at any time of a day.
Life in Dubai comes with a price tag – it's definitely not as cheap as I thought.
No more surfing?
People can't buy alcoholic beverages in liquor stores without a license.
What's app calls are blocked here.
Alright, that's enough for my first 6 digging days.
