Planning a trip to Qatar? Lucky you. But before you zip up your suitcase, let’s talk visas — because nothing kills travel vibes faster than a surprise at the airport. The good news? For most travelers, Qatar keeps it simple. But there are a few things worth knowing.

Visa-Free Entry: Are You on the List?

Travelers from 101 countries can wander into Qatar without a visa. To see if yours makes the cut, check the Visit Qatar portal. Better to be sure than caught off guard.

Visa on Arrival

If your passport qualifies, you can pick up a single-entry visa on arrival, valid for 30 days.

GCC Residents: If you hold a residency in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, or Kuwait, you can also grab a visa on arrival — just make sure your residence permit is valid for at least six months. Still, double-check the Visit Qatar portal before you fly; rules shift faster than desert sands.

Hayya E-Visa: Qatar’s Online Entry Pass

Not on the visa-free list? No worries. Qatar’s Hayya platform is basically your golden ticket online. Here’s how it works:

  1. Sign up at www.hayya.qa or the Hayya app

  2. Upload your documents

  3. Pay the fee & submit

  4. Get your approval within 24 hours

No extra paperwork, no stress — just you, your passport, and the adventure waiting on the other side.

Qatar-Oman Joint Tourist Visa: Two Countries, One Visa

Feeling ambitious? Grab the joint Qatar-Oman visa. It’s issued on arrival, good for 30 days in both countries, allows multiple entries, and can even be extended for another 30 days for a fee. Travelers from Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City can get in on this.

Two countries, one pass, endless stories to tell.

How to Get to Doha: Three Simple Ways to Travel

Getting to Doha is easier than you might think. Here’s the lowdown:

Fly to Qatar.

Hamad International Airport (HIA) is the main gateway, welcoming more than 50 international airlines. Direct flights connect Doha to major cities around the world, and from most global hubs, it’s just 6–7 hours in the air. Fast, simple, and the perfect way to start your adventure high above the clouds.

Take a Road Trip.

If you love the idea of open roads and desert horizons, Doha is easily reachable by car from the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries. Enter via the Abu Samra border with Saudi Arabia, just about an hour’s drive from the city.

Before you go, check entry requirements and visa rules — and for a smoother ride, fast-track entry is available through the Hayya app.

Arrive by Cruise or Yacht.

For those who prefer the rhythm of the sea, Doha Port welcomes major international cruise lines like MSC Cruises, Costa Cruises, and Silversea.

Private yachts? Dock at The Pearl or Lusail Marina and step straight into the city’s heart.

Pick the route that speaks to your travel style, buckle up (or grab your sunhat), and let the Doha adventure begin.
